Biography
Kinga Malec is an accomplished performer of Polish folk and Indian dance based in Liverpool, UK.
As a child she trained as a figure skater and studied classical ballet for six years, before joining the Polish Varsovia ensemble, with whom she performed Polish national dances for 12 years, touring Poland, France, Macedonia, Russia, Croatia and Italy.
Kinga graduated with a BA in Choreography and Dance Techniques from the Music Academy in Lodz, Poland and then went on to gain an MA in Choreography and Dance Theory from the F Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
She has performed throughout the world, and has worked with companies such as Dr Maria Pomianowska and her Ensemble Polonais. She has also regularly appeared on Polish TV
Kinga has also studied Indian dance with a number of renowned teachers, including Pt. Arjun Mishra in Lucknow, Pt. Birju Maharaj, Mamta Maharaj and Saswati Sen in New Delhi and since 2012 continued with Smt. Nirupama Rajendra in Bangalore, under whom she graduated presenting a two-hour classical Kathak solo recital with live music, in March 2019 in Bangalore, India.
